Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

Provide commercial, financial and project management services for Pattern’s fleet of operating wind farms.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

The key responsibilities will include the following:

 

Infrastructure Asset Management

  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive commercial awareness of projects and driving the asset and our organization to achieve superior financial performance.
  • Having a strong sense of project’s profit and loss statements and budget variance and being able to communicate clearly the drivers behind project financial performance.
  • Assessing project risks and ensuring appropriate risk mitigations are put in place to protect from adverse situations.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement in the financial performance or risk profile of assets and executing on those opportunities
  • Supporting Asset Management / Operations reporting activities including Executive Management reviews, monthly project reports, quarterly revolver reports, and other reporting activities as required.

 

Contract Management & Optimization

  • Primary point of contact for PPA customers and project equity partners.  Provide customer relationship management services to the operations organization.
  • Providing contract management services for key commercial contracts (e.g. PPA, Interconnection) for operating assets including negotiating new contracts and amendments, handling contract questions or disputes, and interfacing with contract counterparties as required.
  • Managing the on-going contract compliance obligations in the company's Project Agreement Compliance Tracker.  Ensuring that compliance task owners perform periodic updates, compliance assessments and compliance implementation.
  • Providing business services for operating assets including interfacing with insurance, tax, legal, accounts payable, IT, procurement, etc. as needed.
  • Researching and understanding ISO market rules and the impacts on the assets and assessing new or changing market design regulations; disseminating research findings to relevant parties within Asset Management / Operations or the broader company.

 

Operations Transition

  • Serve as the Project Manager of Operations to manage commercial transition from development/finance/construction to operations for all new projects including organizing cross-functional transition meetings.
  • Leading the Asset Management/Operations group in start-up activities of new projects including pre-COD mobilization, commercial contract administration, regulatory and ISO compliance and taking handoff of residual construction closeout after COD.
  • Ensuring the implementation of compliance tasks are captured by all SME's in the company's compliance tracker
  • Ensure that revenue SOX processes are completed and revenue invoicing is accurate and complete.

 

Special Projects

  • Provide leadership and project management services to ensure that opportunities and risk mitigation strategies are executed effectively.
  • Support other special projects designed to produce continuous improvement in the Asset Management Group or Operations Group.

Qualifications

EXperience/Qualifications/Education Required

Educational Experience

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a related field is required.

Required Work Experience

Candidate must have at least five years’ experience in the commercial development or management of energy assets.

  • Ability to work seamlessly across a wide range of disciplines both within and outside the group and the company to achieve project objectives.
  • Ability to read, understand and implement legal contracts.
  • Ability to understand technical operational matters and translate them to commercial and financial analyses and decision making.
  • Understanding of power market operations inside and outside of organized markets.

 

Technical Skills

Computer skills – Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for financial modeling and analysis.

 

The expected starting pay range for this role is $103,000 - $139,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
