Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Manager, Transmission Compliance, will be responsible for managing the transmission compliance program and implementing the compliance requirements associated with Pattern’s growing transmission business, including those required by FERC, the ISO/RTOs, state commissions, and any other agencies with jurisdiction over Pattern’s transmission assets in the United States and Canada except for NERC. This role will provide Subject Matter Expertise focusing on transmission compliance and support cross-functional efforts by Pattern’s Development and Operations departments to implement applicable regulatory requirements,

onboard with applicable RTO/ISOs, and obtain and maintain necessary transmission authorizations, permits or tariffs. This position requires advanced knowledge of the transmission industry.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage Pattern’s transmission compliance program (such as Standards of Conduct), including managing key policies/procedures, compliance training, controls and monitoring.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for transmission compliance and provide compliance guidance to growing Development and Operations transmission business.
  • Manage audits or request for information by regulators (such as FERC or RTO/ISOs)
  • Oversee transmission permitting, authorizations and onboarding with RTO/ISOs.
  • Support management and administration of Pattern’s transmission tariff(s).
  • Supports relationship building and interactions with regulators and RTO/ISOs.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 10 years of experience in transmission compliance
  • Experience interacting with regulators, such as FERC, RTO/ISOs and energy regulators
  • Strong knowledge of FERC’s regulations, including Standards of Conduct and the RTO/ISO’s transmission tariff requirements
  • Ability to proactively assess transmission compliance needs and communicate compliance guidance

The expected starting pay range for this role is $118,000 - $160,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
