JOB PURPOSE
Support Director in providing compliance, commercial, quantitative analysis, and financial management for Pattern generating assets in operation or to be in operation, to ensure that opportunities and risk mitigation strategies are identified, assessed, and executed effectively.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Contract Management & Compliance
· Ensuring compliance with key commercial contracts (e.g., PPAs and agreements related to transmission services) for operating assets and supporting asset management responsibilities on project agreements for new projects under development.
· Populating and managing the ongoing maintenance of the company’s compliance tracker for operating assets by ensuring periodic updates, compliance assessments, and compliance implementation.
· Providing business support to operating assets, including interfacing with Pattern insurance, tax, legal, accounts payable, finance, IT, procurement, etc.
· Supporting the regulatory compliance function, including assisting with inputs for the submission of filings to regulatory agencies (FERC, EIA, PUC, etc.).
· Researching and understanding ISO market rules impacting operational assets, assessing new or changing market design regulations, and disseminating findings within Asset Management/Operations or other Pattern groups.
Financial Analysis, Budgeting & Reporting
· Prepares accurate monthly reports for key external stakeholders, coordinates with Portfolio Finance to address requests from financial partners, including Preferred Equity, Tax Equity, Equity Partners, and lenders. Assists with preparation of compliance reports. To perform this function, he or she must be familiar with key terms and conditions of our financing and partnership agreements.
· Providing financial planning and analytics for Asset Management/Operations, including monthly analysis of revenue impacts, operating expenses, plant improvements, contract amendments, and other business-related impacts.
· Understands asset valuations both short-term and long-term, including opportunities for cash optimization. This includes preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses, as well as conducting reviews of financial models and providing valuation guidance as applicable. Requires a working level knowledge of financial models.
· Identifying opportunities for improvement in the financial performance or risk profile of assets and providing quantitative analysis for decision making
· Participating in periodic budget development and reviews to update budgets and identify areas for optimization and cost savings.
· Supporting Asset Management/Operations reporting activities including Executive Management reviews, monthly project reports, and other internal and external reporting activities as required.
· Proactively looks for threats to and opportunities for assets or proposed projects and executes on them with guidance and support from the Director. Tracks progress via the Threats & Opportunities tool. Works closely with the Director to organize biannual asset meetings on a rotational basis aimed at discussing strategic considerations for the assets.
Operations Transition
· Supporting the Director of Asset Management with new project commercial transition from the development, through construction, and start of commercial operations including any acquisitions of operating projects.
· Participating in Asset Management/Operations group transition activities of new project including development of key operations agreements, and pre-COD milestones that must be timely completed to obtain all contractual and regulatory approvals required to start commercial operations.
· Populating the compliance database for new project implementation.
