Responsibilities

General Summary

 

The Senior Manager of Design & Engineering is a leadership position responsible for leading and managing technical development, implementation, and execution of the engineering for PV, Energy Storage, EV charging and Microgrid projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees basic/complex canopy, ground mount and new rooftop PV designs and construction documents that conform to NEC codes and permitting requirements using design software’s

 

  • Oversees design of energy storage systems into existing and new solar projects

 

  • Leads and collaborates in all technical design review meetings between Sales, Development and Construction, and all technical complex project costing calls at different stages of the project.
  • Represents the Company as a technical lead on project coordination calls/meetings with both internal and external project stakeholders during all phases of the project

 

  • Works closely with the team to define company processes and metrics, plan and allocate resources across existing programs to ensure strategic alignment and required technical training.

 

  • Develops and improves the system engineering design standards for safety, new product evaluations and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

Desired Skills & Experience Essential Requirements:

  • This position requires at least five years of experience in C&I Solar PV design and engineering, two plus years of experience with energy storage, a minimum of two years of experience leading a team, and two years of experience working with utilities in New England and or NY, NJ
  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical field like Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy is needed. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Professional Engineering license or willingness to obtain preferred.
  • Proficiency in reviewing electrical single-line diagrams, point-to-point diagrams for storage and PV monitoring systems. This position is also responsible for leading/overseeing all complex design and costing review meetings, and reviewing/approving electrical BOM alongside the Electrical PE
  • It is required for the person in this position to have a NABCEP PV Installation Certification
  • This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, Helioscope, PVSyst, Salesforce, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office

 

 

The expected starting pay range for this role is $128,000 - $147,000 USD. This range is an estimate, and base pay may vary above or below these amounts based on several factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees at all levels.
