Responsibilities

Job Purpose

 

This position is a lead solution architect and product owner over the company’s Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) technology solutions This will be a key role in support of process and digital transformation efforts aligned to the company’s Oracle Cloud solutions. The role requires high technical and functional competency in the business areas of consolidation & financial close, financial reporting, management reporting, and budgeting & planning. Hands-on implementation experience with relative Oracle Cloud modules including FCCS, ARCS, EPBCS required. Oracle Cloud ERP experience highly preferred and experience with Workiva is a plus. In-depth understanding of standard system development lifecycle controls, platform master data management and change controls is required. The role will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to perform rationalization and redesign of current business processes and application requirements in favor of standard Oracle Cloud technology. It is key for this role to become a trusted advisor to internal Accounting and Financial Planning stakeholders ensuring optimal organizational buy-in, user adoption and efficiency gains from technology solutions. 

 

Major Accountabilities 

  • Product ownership and strategy over current applications and project strategy, including rationalization of current requirements and projects within current and future business applications.
  • Deliver rationalized enhancements in existing platforms as deemed necessary including Hyperion, Planful, Blackline and Workiva 
  • Support EPM cloud implementation cycle through to deployment as a key member of the project team, recommending standardized solutions and ensuring appropriate stakeholder buy-in and signoff.
  • Ensure high quality and value-added documentation of functional and technical solution design for review, update, and approval.
  • Lead the hands-on configuration in Oracle EPM, and other modules as necessary working with client stakeholders to ensure configurations are in alignment with business requirements.
  • Lead the hands-on development of custom solutions across Reports, Integrations, Conversions, and Extensions.
  • Rationalize the custom requirements and existing & new third party applications.
  • Lead data conversion efforts relative to historic EPM data in Hyperion and other applications and assist in cutover planning.
  • Provide regular status updates, execute change management, and risk mitigation plans 
  • Provide / recommend training to upskill business and technical teams in preparation for Oracle cloud transition and beyond (especially for existing technical team with Microsoft based-ERP management experience).
  • Manage consultants and team members during implementation and transition including contract staff supporting production environments. 
  • Plan and implement post go-live operational support structure for Oracle EPM cloud environment relative to regular enhancement management, master data management, success factor reporting and KPI’s, etc. Transition from product ownership of current systems to Oracle cloud. 

Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications/Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required in related field (Masters preferred or equivalent years of experience required) such as Finance/Accounting, Business Management, Information Systems. 
  • Candidate must have: 
    • 5-7 Years experience in at least 2-3 large scale ERP-led enterprise transformational implementations (Oracle EPM implementation must be at least 1 of these) ensuring successful delivery on time and on-budget. 
    • Demonstrated experience transitioning complex ERP/EPM platforms across technologies with complex data conversion requirements. 
    • At least 5-7 years management and project management experience, managing teams with mixture of direct reports and/or consultants. 
    • At least 5-7 years of cross-departmental business experience, with demonstrated ability to engage and empathize with a wide variety of business owners. 
    • At least 5 years of experience working in a medium to large corporate environment, preferably with a public company. 
    • 5+ years in software systems or architecture development and delivery with demonstrable experience in innovation and emerging technologies. 
    • In depth experience with and understanding of corporate and financial processes, ideally with strong understanding of implementation of industry standards to simplify and standardize processes. 
  • Multi-cultural and multi-regional experience is highly preferred. 
  • Renewable energy industry experience is desirable.  

 

Skills & Ability:  

  • Demonstrated problem solving and communication abilities, including: 
    • Translating requirements and facilitating communications between business partners, technical and non-technical team members, both verbally and visually. 
    • Communicating project status and complex subject matter to directors and vice presidents. 
    • Ability to collaborate and drive common understanding & consensus among stakeholders. 
    • Managing and engaging on multiple, complex projects with competing needs and resource requirements. 
    • Managing direct reports and consultants as required 
    • Ability to rationalize and recommend optimal combination(s) of technology applications and architecture based on enterprise business needs. 
  • Expertise in a broad range of technologies, such as: 
    • Microsoft Office suite with demonstrated proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, etc. 
    • Cloud Architecturessuch as Azure, AWS, OCI 
    • Oracle ERP, EPM required 
    • Data management, Databases, Data Lakes, and Data Warehouses 
    • System integration and connectivity 
    • Business Process Automation - RPA, BPM, Process Mining 
  • Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, processes, and tools. 
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in business-friendly language. 
  • Experience in SOX-regulated environment. 

 

The expected starting pay range for this role is $118,000 - $160,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
