Responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

  • The Manager, Business Applications is tasked with leading and directing the team responsible for sustaining, enhancing, and implementing critical enterprise technologies across business units at Pattern.
  • Key focus areas include:
    • Managing enterprise applications such as InEight Suite, Dynamic Document, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), and other Document Management and operational tools.
    • Ensuring adherence to standardized ITSM processes, meeting SLAs, and fostering a high-performance culture.
    • Overseeing cost management, contracts, and purchase workflows.
    • Acting as the lead architect and product owner for assigned technologies.

Key Accountabilities

 

Technical and Operational Leadership

  • Oversee application sustainment and implementation for assigned tools and technologies.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for these systems to ensure alignment with best practices, timelines, and budgets.
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions to gather requirements and ensure system alignment with business goals.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders through regular communication and structured feedback processes.
  • Lead the team to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
  • Communicate status updates on projects and systems effectively to senior leadership.

 

Team and Resource Management

  • Lead resources to align with the vision and goals of the Enterprise Technology division.
  • Ensure compliance with configuration, testing, security, and change management best practices.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to maintain cost efficiency.

 

Architectural and Technical Expertise

  • Provide guidance on application security, ensuring role-based access and compliance with standards like SSO.
  • Participate in creating high-level business process flows, requirement documents, and system design.
  • Recommend optimal configurations based on long-term enterprise needs and efficiency.

 

Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications/Education Required

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, Energy, Construction, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise application support and implementation.
  • Proven experience with large, complex enterprise applications (e.g., EPC, Doc. Mgmt., Engineering, Land systems).

 

 

Technical and Problem-Solving Skills

  • Experience with SDLC, Agile, and application sustainment frameworks.
  • Ability to perform RCA (root cause analysis) and implement effective resolutions.
  • Expertise in vendor management, procurement collaboration, and negotiation.

 

Communication Skills

  • Strong ability to translate technical ideas into business-friendly language.
  • Skilled in writing and presenting status updates for complex projects.
  • Experience in cross-cultural and multi-regional communication is highly preferred.

 

Industry and Technical Tools Knowledge

  • Knowledge of renewable energy, GIS, and other related industries is desirable.
  • Experience with EPC, Land, Doc. Management, and ERP systems is highly preferred.

 

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel (10-20%) within the U.S. and work on-site in Houston or San Francisco periodically if located within two hours of these offices.

 

This role is pivotal for driving enterprise technology solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals, and fostering innovation and efficiency within the organization.

 

 

The expected starting pay range for this role is $102,000 - $128,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
