Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Director of Construction, the Construction Manager is responsible for delivering projects safely, with the highest level of quality, on time, on budget, and with no adverse impact to the environment.  Provides technical oversight and enforcement for all construction activities with a rapidly growing company with national operations.  The ability to work independently and as a team member are critical, as well as the desire and innovative mindset to operate as an important contributor within a fast-paced environment. 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Construction Leadership

  • Work closely to prioritize key activities on an extensive pipeline of projects in various stages from design through closeout.
  • Ensure that proper construction procedures are followed, including Health, Safety, Quality, Environmental, and workmanship.
  • Work with Project Management teams in enforcing and ensuring quality project execution, identification of project concerns, and proactively solving problems.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to ensure projects are properly designed, planned, and completed.
  • Work with HSQE and Project Management teams to ensure all the closing phase requirements are satisfied.
  • Work with Project Management, Engineering, and Preconstruction teams to identify technical areas of concern and associated solutions.
  • Identify and qualify regional construction partners.
  • Be a subject matter expert regarding installation procedures, apply this expertise to projects, and share knowledge with Project Managers

Process Management

  • Develop standards, methods-of-procedures, Safety Plans, and other procedures for quality project execution.
  • Create, manage, and track operational improvement measures and key performance indicators.
  • Identify solutions and strategies that improve operational performance.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate items that may result in adverse impact to schedule/budget.
  • Prioritize departmental and organizational initiatives to ensure internal/external stakeholders needs are met.
  • Monitor regular and recurring issues / concerns, subsequently developing corrective action plans.
  • Diligently document construction activities for comparison against project schedules to ensure on-time completion and delivery.

Qualifications

Required Work Experience

  • Extensive experience in the solar installation industry.
  • 5 years of progressive construction leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to review engineering designs, contracts, scopes of work, and commissioning plans.
  • History of delivering projects safely, with quality, on schedule, and on budget.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field is preferred but not required.

Additional Requirements

  • OSHA 30-Cour Construction Safety Training.
  • Current First Aid / CPR Certification.
  • Experience with Procore.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, etc.
  • 75% - 100% travel throughout the continental United States.
  • Valid driver’s license.

 

The expected starting pay range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
