Responsibilities

Job Purpose

Provide project control and commercial management support for various projects across Pattern’s portfolio.  

 

Key Accountabilities

The key responsibilities will include as a minimum the following:

  • Managing the implementation of cost control and assisting project team by tracking project committed, incurred, and actual costs.
  • Assess for opportunities to improve schedules and cost savings through understanding of project management principles.
  • Deep Understand of project performance and able to present and answer complex questions and justifications for project movements and progress.
  • Understanding of project stage gates and associated business drivers and deliverables
  • Complex understanding of commercial management and schedule integration concepts and principles.
  • Manage the execution Budget allocation, forecasting and trend management with the ability to identify cost savings and opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of the wider team providing mentorship to those in junior roles.
  • Understand core project financing concepts and how they are implemented into project execution.
  • Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts.
  • Familiar with KPI’s, Earned Value, scope control and change management concepts, principles and methodologies.
  • Able to compile and present month end reports with a focus on movements within the period, reserve management and overall project cost attestation.
  • Participating in multidiscipline review of project capital forecasts, accruals, and analysis of project trends throughout the project maturity.
  • Collects data and produces an initial analysis on manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations.
  • Assist company leadership on corporate initiatives.

 

Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications/Education

Educational Experience

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management, Accounting or Finance.  
  • Minimum of (6) years related Construction Project Controls experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Experience working on major capital projects with a familiarity on activities, stage gate process and management.
  • Experience with large construction project activity, renewable energy projects and / or transmission projects.
  • Complex understanding of capability/maturity assessments.
  • Excellent analytical and cost control skills
  • Broad understanding of project management principals and practice, and engineering projects
  • Understanding of principles of financing requirements
  • Able to lead and guide best practice solutions in the development of controls & performance integrated processes and digital solutions.
  • Confident in writing/presenting reports and ability to navigate through complex stakeholder requirements.
  • Able to guide and coach junior team member with a focus on technical project control competencies.
  • Computer literacy in office 365 application including advance user of Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of schedule principals, techniques, practices and software’s, i.e. P6, Project, etc
  • Experience with utilizing ERP platforms and able to support business initiatives
  • Good understanding of construction contract concepts, language, and terms.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and resolve multiple issues on multiple projects under demanding schedule constraints.
  • Knowledge of basic engineering concepts.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with typical computer software (Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management Software, Cost Control Platforms, Outlook, Teams, Excel, P6, PowerBi and PowerPoint)

 

The expected starting pay range for this role is $80,000 - $108,000 in local currency. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
