Responsibilities

Job Description

As the Business Systems Lead for Construction and GIS systems, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and direction to our Business Applications organization in support of the company’s construction and GIS, land and meteorology systems, including the assessment, acquisition, and rationalization and implementation of new and existing business technology solutions. You will ensure that our construction and land/GIS platforms are implemented and optimized to support business processes and enterprise goals through hands-on partnership with internal teams, contractors, consultants and vendors. You will work collaboratively with the specific business teams to understand and document business processes and requirements, then recommend, implement, configure and maintain the relevant applications to support the construction and land teams. This role includes partnering with the Application Owner and architects to develop a roadmap to minimize technical debt as the organization scales.

Key Accountabilities

 

Role accountabilities include:

  • Support and implement the core set of applications in the Construction and GIS functions, leveraging application and technology best practices.
  • Serve as the technology expert for the relevant applications, taking an active role in the implementation of new or inflight projects to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Facilitate discussions among business leaders and process owners to understand problem statements and gather system data and configuration requirements
  • Interact with cross-functional business units to define requirements and understand the systems upstream and downstream changes
  • Document and develop high level, business processes flows, requirements and design documents
  • Make configuration enhancements within the InEight suite per business requirements
  • Create, customize and manage InEight custom fields, workflows, roles/permissions/user groups, reports, saved searches, dashboards, etc.
  • Work with a technical team to design and implement custom reports, charts and dashboards within InEight and PowerBI
  • Identify test criteria and test new functionality/enhancements
  • Ensure procedures, processes and proper change management controls are adhered to on all production changes and implementations

Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications/Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred or equivalent years of experience).
  • 5+ years working experience as a software systems implementation consultant/business analyst with demonstrable experience in SDLC, Agile or relevant application implementation and support frameworks.
  • Experience with Construction Management, GIS or similar platforms highly preferred.
  • Prior hands-on working and/or implementation experience with large and complex enterprise applications is required.
  • Expertise in a broad range of technologies desired, including but not limited to: Construction management software (such as Primavera, InEight, etc.), GIS, Land and Meteorology applications
  • Demonstrated problem solving and communication abilities, including:
    • Translating requirements and facilitating communications between business partners, technical and non-technical team members, both verbally and visually.
    • Good judgement, ability to quickly get to the underlying root cause of problems or issues.
    • Communicating status and complex subject matter to directors, vice presidents as needed, to provide insight into the current state of the business or project
    • Ability to rationalize and recommend optimal configurations and implementation of technology applications and architecture based on enterprise business needs, efficiency and long-range cost effectiveness.
    • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in business-friendly language
  • Multi-cultural and multi-regional experience is highly preferred.
  • Renewable energy industry experience is desirable.
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. up to 10-20% of time is desirable.

 

The expected starting pay range for this role is $103,000 - $139,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
