Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for leading a sales team to meet revenue and profit goals, while also developing and executing effective sales strategies to ensure the company's continued growth and success. The Vice President of Business Development must have a deep understanding of the solar industry and be able to drive revenue growth through effective sales planning, management, and execution.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate with company leadership to develop yearly business plan.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet revenue plan and profit goals.
  • Building a strong sales team including hiring, developing and performance management.
  • Lead and manage the sales team to ensure they meet individual and team performance targets.
  • Participate in legislative and regulatory policy impacting Solect’s business. This can include joining and holding roles with key industry organizations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including marketing and engineering, to ensure alignment with overall business goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, partners, and other stakeholders in the solar industry.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics related to sales, including revenue, profit margins, and market share.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and make recommendations for new product development and innovation.
  • Develop and conduct training for the sales team to ensure they are equipped to meet sales targets.
  • Analyze customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve the sales process and customer experience.

Qualifications

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of roles in the solar industry.
  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of solar technology, products, and services.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a business plan to achieve growth goals.
  • Experience building a successful sales team including hiring and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in developing and executing successful sales strategies.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze financial data and make sound business decisions.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration or a related field.
