    Responsibilities

    JOB PURPOSE

    Primary focus is to assist the capital procurement team with the analysis, maintenance and reporting of data as it relates to the pricing of power generating equipment and construction services.  Secondary focus is to support the contract negotiation process, the financial close process, contract management, as well as price forecasting.

     

    Key Accountabilities

    The key responsibilities will include, as a minimum, the following:

    • Work with the capital procurement team on creating and administering budgetary, indicative and/or formal requests for proposal (RFP) packages, including facilitating the RFP via an online bidding platform.
    • Based upon RFP responses, analyze bid results and compile bid evaluations.
    • Create and maintain the necessary technical and administrative infrastructure to manage historical pricing across all projects and technologies.
    • Create forward-looking quarterly reports projecting price for all major generation equipment (turbines, solar panels, batteries, etc.).
    • Assist with the development, maintenance, and execution of the project-specific contracting plan.
    • Assist with the analysis and evaluation of supplier product options.
    • Assist with the project’s financial close process, including providing copies of requested contracts (and exhibits) and compiling responses from OEMs and/or interdisciplinary teams to independent engineering (IE) questions.
    • Support the facilitation and management of large power generation equipment and service transactions for wind, solar, storage and transmission projects.
    • Work with the capital procurement team, legal, finance, project controls, and the Project Manager to manage the exchange of contract redlines, amendments, exhibits, and scope change orders.
    • Maintain repository of forms of contracts (turbine supply, battery storage, equipment supply, service and maintenance, and related exhibits, etc.) and facilitate continuous improvement of such forms from project to project based upon lessons learned and feedback from others.
    • Ensure appropriate pre- and post-execution obligations are met by both Pattern and its respective suppliers with all milestones of the agreements.
    • Interface with IEs to track wind turbine proven/unproven and qualified/unqualified status.
    • Coordinate technical and commercial responses to offtake RFPs relating to capital equipment.
    • Facilitate the execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA) with prospective suppliers/partners and Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with OEMs.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Experience/Qualifications/Education Required

    Educational Requirements

    • Minimum of (5) years of related experience; experience in renewable energy project development and/or power generation commercial operations a plus.
    • (4) year degree in engineering, accounting, business or finance. MBA desirable.

    Additional Requirements

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Thorough understanding of contractual terms and conditions.
      • Procurement and/or previous contract management experience with wind turbines, solar panels, transformers, inverters, batteries, a plus.
    • Previous experience working with Joint Venture project partners a plus.
    • Familiarity with domestic and global power generation and energy markets.
    • Familiarity with the exportation/importation of equipment/materials a plus.
    • Experienced in financial analysis including price forecasting and reporting.
    • Ability to prioritize and resolve complex issues under demanding schedule constraints.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of basic engineering and construction concepts.
    • Familiarity with contracting for large generation and related equipment.
    • Some travel is required.

    Technical Skills:

    • Facility with typical computer software (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Project and PowerPoint), with an emphasis on Excel.
    • Familiarity with ERP systems and online document management tools a plus.
