    The Procurement Analyst will work within the Purchasing Department which is responsible for maintaining the company’s procurement policy, systems and processes and for the purchase of goods and services required for the head-office functions in the USA and the development and operation of Pattern Energy’s wind and solar generation facilities in the USA and Canada.

    Key Accountabilities

    The key responsibilities will include the following:

    • Develop and maintain the company’s ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system
    • Management of the company’s ‘P-Card’ credit card program
    • Provide training and day-to-day support on procurement systems, policy and processes for business unit and/or corporate staff involved in purchasing activities
    • Actively participate and contribute to cross-functional teams on business transformation projects to improve processes and systems
    • Analysis of purchasing spend and reports
    • Develop purchasing strategy and plans in close coordination with internal customers within the Corporate, Business Development and Operations business units
    • Prepare bid packages and publish Requests For Proposals (RFPs) as necessary
    • Negotiate price and commercial terms and conditions with suppliers for all major purchase of goods and services required by business units and corporate functions
    • Manage relationships with existing suppliers and develop relationships and opportunities with potential new suppliers
    • Create master/framework arrangements with vendors that can be used for repeat ‘call-off’ orders for commonly-used goods and services
    • Continuous learning and development of knowledge and understand of procurement methods, commodities, service categories, general business conditions and the renewable energy industry to drive innovation and continuous improvement
    • Other special projects as assigned


    Experience/Qualifications/Education Required

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 2+ years’ experience as it relates to the job description.
    • Advanced level of proficiency with computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing and ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar (e.g. Oracle or SAP).
    • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and record keeping in electronic and hard copy.
    • Ability to apply analytical skills to evaluate supplier proposals and pricing
    • Proven experience in negotiating contracts for equipment and services.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
    • Excellent organizational and forward-planning abilities in order to pro-actively meet tight deadlines.
