    We have a project available for an experienced accounting professional that is centered around ASC 842 (lease accounting).  This position will have responsibilities for the implementation of ASC 842 and will work with key business stakeholders, business users, developers, accountants, consultants and other IT resources to achieve required objectives. This person will work closely with project team to design and implement new lease software. This includes the data conversion process, validation and reconciliation of key data points. In addition, the accounting professional will assist with documentation of the process and controls to meet the audit and SOX requirements.  This position will also work on developing test cases/what if scenarios, and user acceptance testing with the business teams. Responsibilities include developing training materials and documentation of accounting policies and controls.




    • Assist with the implementation of new lease accounting software (Visual Lease), including working with external software consultants and land administration team on system configuration and data migration/conversion
    • Collaborate with global accounting teams to determine appropriate action for certain contracts, research applicable accounting guidance and document findings
    • Data validation and UAT
    • Review contracts and develop accounting positions on the contracts
    • Development and customization of financial statement disclosure reporting within new software
    • Preparation of technical scoping memorandum
    • Develop new accounting controls to ensure all future leases will be correctly accounted for


    Educational Experience

    College degree required.  CPA required and public accounting experience is a plus.


    Required Work Experience


    The following criteria will be used as a basis for Pattern to select a qualified applicant:


    • The candidate should have a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant accounting experience.
    • Technical whitepaper writing and/or lease accounting experience with GAAP/IFRS understanding required
    • Excellent knowledge of new lease accounting standards (ASC 842/IFRS 16).

    • Strong technical and analytical accounting background and familiarity or experience with complex accounting issues.
    • Commitment, ability, and prior experience in meeting deadlines for special projects; preparing thorough and complete analyses and reconciliations with appropriate documentation and follow-up.
    • Strong organizational  skills  with  the  ability  to  prioritize  and  manage  a  demanding workload with minimal supervision.
    • Enjoys working in a very “hands on” and detail-oriented environment.
    • Self-starter with flexibility, desire to learn, willing to ask questions and take ownership of projects.
    • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
    • Japanese language proficiency is a plus.


    Technical Skills


    Computer skills – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and OneNote).  The Company uses Microsoft Dynamics AX general ledger, fixed asset, accounts payable, accounts receivable software and Hyperion consolidation software.
