This position will have accounting and reporting responsibility for entities involved in the origination of greenfield development and construction or acquisition, together with companies involved in providing services once the assets are placed into operation.




Emphasis on Fixed Assets

  • Review of depreciation schedules and reconciliations to identify deviations with company policies.
  • Review of asset transactions like additions to ensure they are in accordance with the company’s capital expenditure policy and are properly documented.
  • Review of records in the general leger and sub ledger for accuracy and consistency with GAAP and company policies.
  • Review of asset retirement obligations, impairments and disposals for consistency with company policy.
  • Maintaining the asset ledger in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Assist management in remediation efforts of identified fixed asset control gaps, including the testing of updates implementedFull accounting and general ledger responsibility including preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements for multiple asset origination entitie
  • Read, interpret and properly account for project and transaction documents.
  • Prepare account analyses and reconciliations on a monthly basis in US dollars, and foreign base currencies where needed.
  • Ensure that monthly, quarterly, year-end and special project deadlines and requirements are met.
  • Hands on use, data entry and navigation of general ledger and reporting software.
  • Maintain schedules to support income tax filing requirements.
  • Set-up and maintain the accounting and permanent files for existing and new legal entities, investments, and project bank financing on a current basis.
  • Assist with corporate audit as it relates to fixed assets and assigned portfolio.
  • Communicate with  domestic  and  foreign  offices,  third  parties  and  within  the  SF Accounting group and company to coordinate information gathering and resolve accounting, intercompany and investment activity issues.
  • Special projects and additional responsibilities as necessary.


Educational Experience


College degree required.  BS degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of coursework and experience is required.  CPA and public accounting experience is a plus.


Required Work Experience


The following criteria will be used as a basis for Pattern to select a qualified applicant:

  • The candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Fixed asset accounting
  • Multi-level consolidations with noncontrolling interests.
  • Equity and cost accounting for investments.
  • Multiple businesses with multiple functional currencies.
  • Purchase accounting – business combinations.
  • Project financing.
  • Accounting for multiple asset origination entities and service providers.
  • Accounting to meet the requirements of financing and loan documents.


Additional Requirements


Must possess strengths in the following:

  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong "hands on" technical skills with a keen, thorough attention to detail.
  • Strong technical and analytical accounting background and familiarity or experience with complex accounting  issues  such  as,  consolidations,  US  and  foreign  GAAP  issues, foreign currency translation, multiple corporate structures, equity and investment accounting.
  • Commitment, ability, and prior experience in meeting deadlines for monthly and quarterly reporting, and special projects; preparing thorough and complete analyses and reconciliations with appropriate documentation and follow-up.
  • Strong organizational  skills  with  the  ability  to  prioritize  and  manage  a  demanding workload involving multiple tasks, responsibilities and deadlines with professional follow- through and minimal supervision.
  • Enjoys working in a very “hands on” and detail-oriented environment.
  • Self-starter with flexibility, desire to learn, willing to ask questions and take ownership of projects.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Spanish or Japanese language proficiency is a plus.


Technical Skills


Computer skills – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and OneNote).  The Company uses Microsoft Dynamics AX general ledger, fixed asset, accounts payable, accounts receivable software and Hyperion consolidation software.
