This meteorologist position will be responsible for managing the wind resource analysis for development projects as well as participating in greenfield project initiation. This position will work closely with project developers, as well our construction and finance departments.
This meteorologist position is responsible for data analysis, wind resource modelling and analysis, mapping, site suitability, and third party communication for the projects they are responsible for. They will ensure that the all key parties receive updated project analyses in order for the company to make critical decisions in the project development phase.
Bachelors or Masters degree in atmospheric sciences, engineering, or similar scientific field
Required Work Experience
3+ years of experience in the wind sector as a Meteorologist or Wind Resource Analyst
Software packages: WindFarmer, OpenWind, WAsP, CFD models, mesoscale modeling, Windographer, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, and Microsoft Suite
Comfortable working with large datasets, as in Excel and Access
Incumbent must be able to collaborate and work effectively with a small scientific team and work individually; strong communication skills and the ability to disseminate results to upper management and non-technical groups; individual must be dedicated and focused on the big picture, and must be able to multi-task; proactive; strong problem solving ability; willingness to work in a fast paced environment, where tasks may change day to day; flexible; someone who has a passion for science and is eager to learn more and contribute to green energy
