    This position will have accounting and reporting responsibility for entities involved in the origination of greenfield development and construction or acquisition, together with companies involved in providing services once the assets are placed into operation.


    • Able to research and apply U.S. GAAP and IFRS technical accounting guidance or other accounting standards to support the accounting treatment of transactions, particularly when these may differ from local/statutory reporting requirements.Full accounting and general ledger responsibility including preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements for multiple asset origination entities.
    • Read, interpret and properly account for project and transaction documents.
    • Prepare account analyses and reconciliations on a monthly basis in US dollars, and foreign base currencies where needed.
    • Ensure that monthly, quarterly, year-end and special project deadlines and requirements are met.
    • Hands on use, data entry and navigation of general ledger and reporting software.
    • Maintain schedules to support income tax filing requirements.
    • Set-up and maintain the accounting and permanent files for existing and new legal entities, investments, and project bank financing on a current basis.
    • Assist with corporate audit as it relates to entities.
    • Communicate with domestic and foreign offices, third parties and within the SF Accounting group and company to coordinate information gathering and resolve accounting, intercompany and investment activity issues.
    • Calculate interest and principal payment obligations, prepare bank notices, analyze project and debt facilities and interact with third party bank lenders.
    • Develop thorough knowledge of operations for wind and non-wind asset origination and operating projects.
    • Participate in preparation of annual and capital budgets and periodic net revenue, and cash forecasts.
    • Prepare management accounts for service companies comparing actual results to budget.
    • Document and account for new companies including developing purchase accounting journal entries and writing accounting memoranda.
    • Assist in the tracking of capital spending against approved CAR’s (capital approval requests).
    • Prepare monthly unaudited financial statements. Full responsibility for all internal, investor, lender reporting.
    • Special projects and additional responsibilities as necessary.



    Educational Experience

    College degree required. BS degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of coursework and experience is required. CPA and public accounting experience is a plus.


    Required Work Experience

    The following criteria will be used as a basis for Pattern to select a qualified applicant:

    • The candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience.
    • Multi-level consolidations with noncontrolling interests.
    • Equity and cost accounting for investments.
    • Multiple businesses with multiple functional currencies.
    • Purchase accounting – business combinations.
    • Project financing.
    • Accounting for multiple asset origination entities and service providers.
    • Accounting to meet the requirements of financing and loan documents.

    Additional Requirements

    Must possess strengths in the following:

    • The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong "hands on" technical skills with a keen, thorough attention to detail.
    • Strong technical and analytical accounting background and familiarity or experience with complex accounting issues such as, consolidations, US and foreign GAAP issues, foreign currency translation, multiple corporate structures, equity and investment accounting.
    • Commitment, ability, and prior experience in meeting deadlines for monthly and quarterly reporting, and special projects; preparing thorough and complete analyses and reconciliations with appropriate documentation and follow-up.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a demanding workload involving multiple tasks, responsibilities and deadlines with professional follow-through and minimal supervision.
    • Enjoys working in a very “hands on” and detail-oriented environment.
    • Self-starter with flexibility, desire to learn, willing to ask questions and take ownership of projects.
    • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
    • Spanish or Japanese language proficiency is a plus.

    Technical Skills

    Computer skills – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and OneNote). The Company uses Microsoft Dynamics AX general ledger, fixed asset, accounts payable, accounts receivable software and Hyperion consolidation software.
