Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

Oversees Inventory Management for Pattern’s fleet of wind and solar facilities. Ensures availability of parts, proper inventory controls and optimization of costs for materials and inventory.

Key Accountabilities

The key responsibilities will include the following:

 Materials Requirement Planning:

  • Establishes solid, repeatable process for recommending initial reorder points and reorder quantities for sites.
  • Interfaces with Facility Managers and other key stakeholders to review and update recommendations and gain approvals to proceed. Updates approved MRP settings in Microsoft Dynamics AX (AX) on scheduled and as-needed basis.
  • Analyzes part consumption history and parts usage forecasts. Analyzes slow-moving parts and surplus inventory.
  • Oversees development of standard inventory reporting to include on hand levels and parts consumption.

Master Data Development & Maintenance

  • Coordinates the onboarding of new sites into AX Inventory, including parts identification and classification.
  • Adds and updates parts in AX Item Master. Ensures that part changes follow the established change control process.

System Support & Training

  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert for AX Inventory.
  • Trains site personnel on how to use AX Inventory. Develops training materials.
  • Drafts AX Inventory test-case scenarios and participates in testing.
  • Ensures proper linkages between AX Inventory and other modules, including purchasing, work order management and payables. Follows up on issues; resolves or priories for future system/process improvements.
  • Champions Inventory Management system upgrades; writes business case for proposed system enhancements.
  • Trains users on Inventory Management procedures. Develops new procedures as required such as scrap inventory.

Site Support

  • Supports warehouses in end-of-year physical counts, periodic cycle counts and warehouse organization.

Strategic

  • Prepares business case for/against strategic initiatives including movement to barcoding, centralized warehousing and supplier managed inventory. Prepares detailed financial analysis and project plan. Solicits feedback from various stakeholders to prepare the business case.
  • Sets up financial and ERP system infrastructure to move parts between sites.

Qualifications

Educational Experience

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, business or a related field is required.

Major ERP (AX, Oracle or SAP) Inventory/Materials Management Certification Desired

APICS CPIM or ISM CPSM Certification Desired

Required Work Experience

Candidate must have at least five years’ experience in working directly in an ERP Inventory/Materials Management module, and strong knowledge of material, or management of inventory management best practices

Additional Requirements

Must possess strengths in the following:

  • Self-starter, independent worker
  • Ability to work both strategically and transactionally.
  • Strong technical knowledge of executing transactions within ERP Inventory/Materials Management modules.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excited to travel to remote wind and solar power plants and interface directly with site personel.

Travel

  • Up to 30%

 

Technical Skills

Computer skills –.proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Experience with Major ERP (AX, Oracle or SAP) System Inventory/Materials Management Module.
